PTI Imran Khan PIMS: PTI Slams Govt Over Hospital Transfer

The PTI Imran Khan PIMS has accused the government of violating a Supreme Court order after Imran Khan was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) instead of Shifa International Hospital. The former prime minister was moved from Adiala Jail for a medical examination and was later sent back to prison.

The development has created fresh tension between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the government. PTI leaders say the Supreme Court had clearly directed authorities to take Khan to Shifa International Hospital. Government officials, however, say security concerns forced them to change the location.

The dispute has also raised new questions about Khan’s health and the medical treatment available to him while he remains in custody.

Supreme Court Ordered Transfer to Shifa Hospital

The Supreme Court had directed the authorities to move Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital for a medical examination. The order came after concerns about his health were raised by his family, lawyers and political party.

The court’s direction was seen as an important step because PTI had been demanding specialist medical treatment for Khan. His health has remained a major concern for the party, particularly because of problems affecting his right eye.

PTI expected Khan to be examined at the private hospital under the supervision of appropriate specialists. The party also wanted his personal physician to have a role in his medical assessment.

However, the plan changed when authorities took Khan to PIMS instead.

PTI Accuses Government of Defying Court Order

PTI Imran Khan PIMS strongly criticised the government after learning that Khan had been taken to PIMS. Party leaders described the move as a violation of the Supreme Court’s instructions.

The party argued that the court had specifically named Shifa International Hospital. Therefore, according to PTI, authorities could not simply choose another hospital without following the court’s direction.

The controversy became more serious because Khan was examined at the government-run hospital and then returned to Adiala Jail within a short period.

PTI has indicated that it may pursue legal action over the issue. The party believes the government should have followed the Supreme Court order exactly rather than changing the location of Khan’s examination.

PTI Imran Khan PIMS : Government Cites Security Concerns

The government has offered a different explanation for the decision. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said security concerns were behind the decision to take Khan to PIMS instead of Shifa International Hospital.

Authorities had reportedly deployed a heavy police presence around the private hospital. Officials were concerned about the possibility of large crowds gathering near the facility because of Khan’s popularity among PTI supporters.

The government has argued that maintaining security was necessary while also ensuring that Khan received medical attention.

This explanation has not satisfied PTI. The party maintains that security arrangements should have been made without ignoring the court’s instructions.

As a result, the disagreement is now focused on whether security concerns provided enough justification for changing the hospital named in the Supreme Court order.

PTI Imran Khan PIMS : Imran Khan’s Sister Describes the Hospital Visit

Khan’s sister, Uzma Khan, was present during the medical visit. She later described the circumstances surrounding the examination and raised concerns about the treatment he received.

According to her account, she expected Khan to be taken to Shifa International Hospital. Instead, she found herself at PIMS and was told that the visit involved a follow-up examination of his eye.

She also questioned the medical staff about Khan’s treatment and medication. She said she was not familiar with most of the doctors involved in the examination.

Her account added to PTI’s criticism of the government and strengthened the party’s argument that the court-ordered medical process was not properly followed.

PTI Imran Khan PIMS : Concerns Over Khan’s Eye Condition

Imran Khan’s eyesight has been a major part of the recent debate about his health. His right eye has been affected by central retinal vein occlusion, a condition that has required medical attention.

PTI has repeatedly demanded specialist treatment for the former prime minister. The party and his family have also raised concerns about whether he has received timely and appropriate care.

The government, however, says Khan has been examined by doctors and that there is no immediate medical emergency requiring hospitalization.

The latest examination at PIMS was therefore important for both sides. While the government says it demonstrated that Khan was medically fit, PTI argues that the examination did not satisfy the Supreme Court’s specific instructions.

    Khan Returned to Adiala Jail

After the medical examination, Imran Khan was returned to Adiala Jail. His short visit to the hospital surprised PTI supporters because the Supreme Court had ordered medical supervision and treatment at Shifa International Hospital.

The quick return also added to concerns among Khan’s family and political supporters. They had expected a more detailed examination at the private hospital, particularly because of the ongoing concerns about his eyesight.

Government officials have maintained that doctors found Khan medically fit to return to prison. Reuters reported that the authorities said the examination did not reveal an urgent medical problem requiring him to remain in hospital.

    Political Tensions Rise Again

The dispute over Khan’s medical examination comes at a sensitive time for Pakistani politics. Imran Khan has remained in prison since 2023 and continues to face several legal cases.

His imprisonment has kept tensions high between PTI and the government. His supporters argue that the legal cases against him are politically motivated, while authorities reject that claim and maintain that the cases are being handled through the legal system.

The hospital controversy has now added another issue to the political conflict.

For PTI, the matter is about more than the choice of hospital. The party says it concerns the government’s responsibility to follow a Supreme Court order. For the government, the decision was based on security concerns and the need to provide medical care without creating a public-order problem.

    What Happens Next?

PTI Imran Khan PIMS The controversy is unlikely to end with Khan’s return to jail. PTI has already signalled that it may challenge the government’s decision through legal channels.

The dispute could also lead to further clarification from the Supreme Court about how its medical-treatment order should be implemented.

For now, Imran Khan remains at Adiala Jail after his examination at PIMS. His health, especially the condition affecting his right eye, is expected to remain a major political and legal issue.

The latest development has once again placed Imran Khan’s medical treatment at the center of Pakistan’s political debate. Whether the government’s security concerns are accepted by the courts, or whether PTI’s claim of non-compliance gains further legal attention, could determine the next stage of the dispute.
